Outdoor activities are in high demand in the city and the Adelaide Hills will soon have indoor dog parks.
In an announcement this morning, the City of Adelaide confirmed it will be bringing outdoor activities to the city’s parks in the future.
The City of South Australia has been exploring whether it could bring the indoor dog play facilities to Adelaide’s main parks in a bid to boost visitor numbers.
This year’s Adelaide Hills outdoor dog park is the first of its kind in Australia.
The indoor dog area was created in 2015 and will be open from 11am to 4pm on the weekends.
“The indoor area will be available to all people, no matter their fitness level, and will include an area for kids to play, as well as a play area for the adult population,” the city said in a statement.
“We also want to offer an easy access to the indoor area by walking or by taking public transport to and from the dog park.”
For those who prefer to take public transport, the dog area will also be available by bike, tram, car or public transport.
“The indoor facility is the third indoor dog-related activity to be built in Adelaide.
There are also plans to build an outdoor dog area on the City’s South East side.
There will be plenty of outdoor play opportunities to enjoy in the indoor play area.
The Adelaide Hills is also one of only four parks in South Australia that will have outdoor dog play.
The South East dog park will open from 1pm on Saturdays.
The outdoor dog-play area will open at 11am on weekends.
This is not the first time the city has announced plans to bring outdoor dog parks to Adelaide.
In September 2016, the city announced it would be building an outdoor park for the 2019-2020 season.
